Low ego high fun factor
I’m new to running and just about manage 5k currently. I have done 3 of the zigzag events and I love them. Very encouraging to a newbie. Low ego club and that makes it relaxing and a fun way to try and kill myself. The cake!!! Thanks zigzag

Friendly and accessible
I love the fact this is a loop and you can change your distance up or down, even once you have started. So flexible and great for anyone starting out if they are not sure how they are going to get on. It’s less daunting. Free tea, coffee and cake was an added thoughtfulness bonus. Great event and lovely hot chocolate and lemon drizzle cake at the end! Never had that before. My only criticism, which was more my fault, at the finish line. I thought I had finished and turned off for the medal. Unfortunately, I missed the finish line by about a meter. I also thought the medals were in the bit where I registered. Long story short I wasted 5 minutes faffing before I got to the right bit and swung my foot over the timing bits. Not sure if it needed pointing out more or I'm just an idiot? Event was great though and I'd highly recommend!!!

Fantastic event
I've done a few ZigZag events now and all have been fun and friendly with spot-on organisation and a supportive team of organisers and marshals. Great medals and scrummy cake at the end, too.
This one is a pretty route, easy underfoot and relatively flat. The 5k-ish laps ensure you can do as much or as little as you want to on the day so there's no pressure if you're not feeling great or want to do more than you intended. Good snack station at the end of each lap to refuel.
