A good fun day out rolling around in the mud!!!
We were warned it would be muddy, and Zig Zag didn't disappoint. As Steve told us, if you can do OMG in the mud, you can do any off road trail run. And he is 100% correct.
The question whether it's for beginners is a common one, and I would say: YES it is: Because everyone is going through this together and there is help, and encouragement every step of the way.
From experience, having done this twice: Take your time, meet old friends, make new ones and love every step of the way to your cake and tea/coffee at the end and:
When you wake up next morning and look at your medal: You'll have that OMG smile from ear to ear.
Now, stop reading this and go and do some running!

Muddy and great fun
Had a fab day, the course was very scenic and the weather was perfect for running in. Very muddy in places but to be expected this time of the year.
Great friendly organisers as always. Thank you ZigZag for putting on another fab event ⭐

Mudfest
Cold Start, turned out to be a nice, dry & sunny day. But, conditions under foot were definitely a challenge. Plenty of mud and/or water patches along the ‘undulating’ route. Well marked directions, very well marshalled and a fantastic drink & feed station at the end of each lap. Four for a half marathon. Thanks as always to the ZigZag family.

Amazing
OMG at hinchingbrook is local to me, the mud can be horrendous but you have so much fun with all the other runners you forget about it

Always good events
Zig zag always put on good events, the team are always friendly and it’s always well organised.

Fun in the mud.
Well organised, clear route, friendly Marshalls and runners - relatively short laps mean you are seldom on your own so plenty of opportunity to chat with other runners.
My only issue was that I lost my chip timing tag in one of the “water features”.
Andrew Gage
Very friendly, relaxed event
Was muddy in Feb, god fun to run though but you do need trail shoes.
Suzy Taylor
This was my first race, I wouldn’t come back but have signed up for St David’s day
For my 1st Race, I loved it, everybody was so friendly, very well organised, will definitely start to run more, this was the kick in the a*#e I needed, thank you Zig Zag

Another awsome event
Even Muddied than last year
Abi Milburn
Really scenic course, felt more downhill than up
Guidance said road shoes should be fine when it was a very muddy route where trail shoes would have helped. Other than that all was great

Mud mud and more mud. But loved it.
Ciara Nicholson
Great event but particularly muddy today!
Sean Mountcastle-Evans
Good fun event.
Details need to be updated to explain quite how muddy it is, it can be done in road trainers but it’s very tough.
Other than that the event was great.
